BILBAO CITY BREAK
Bilbao is not only the Guggenheim Museum; it has so much more to offer to its visitors. Albeit it’s industrial past, the city is today a modern and cosmopolitan center that has managed to reinvent itself.
On this two-day package tour of Bilbao and its surroundings, we will discover Bilbao and taste the best pintxos of the city, or if you prefer, become a Basque chef of, allegedly, the best cuisine in the world by taking a traditional Basque cooking class. We will also cross over the famous Transporter Bridge of Biscay, visit a Txakoli winery on the coast, and for those with a little strength still left in them, climb the 241 steps to the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (an impressive coastal site used in the filming of “Game of Thrones Season 7”).
– Visit the famous Transporter Bridge of Portugalete (Vizcaya Bridge), one of the most important constructions of the Industrial Revolution and declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.
– Discover Bilbao on foot and enjoy the best Pintxos (Basque tapas) of Bilbao’s Old Quarter OR, if preferred, become a Basque chef by taking a traditional Basque cooking class.
– Head to the coast to visit a famous Txakoli winery of the Province of Biscay, and learn about the elaboration process of our zesty Txakoli white wine and enjoy some tastings.
– Head towards the islet of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe to climb the 241 steps to the hermitage devoted to John The Baptist.
